Checking/changing the brushes on a G-Wiz

Has anyone got any experience of checking/changing the brushes on a G-Wiz DC?
A couple of G-Wiz owners would like to do their own maintenance and servicing, but getting to the brushes appears to be a bit of a game - especially as we don't really know what we're doing...
Any suggestions or help appreciated...
