Berlingo brushes wanted

Postby julian295 » Tue Oct 21, 2008 6:30 pm

My Berlingo seemed to be running on kangaroo juice earlier on, so I'm guessing I need some new brushes. Does anyone have any for sale or know where I can obtain them from?

Many thanks
Julian

Brush order

Postby Flying John » Wed Oct 29, 2008 12:01 pm

I am happy to order another ten sets, but at the moment I have only been asked for 3 sets. They are coming out at about £17 per brush + vat now since the euro has got so strong against the £.

Let me know if anyone is interested.

I am interested in at least a couple of sets.

Do you know if the brushes are compatible with the 106 version (which I have just purchased) ?

Hi Rob - apparently they are not !.

I have no first hand experience but have been told that although the size is correct the angle that the brush touches the comm is different, so the pre-curving that is done for the Blingo is not a match for the 106.

Having said that I would like to get a photo and/or measurementd from the 106 when you do come to change the brushes.

Who me....

Or Rob with the 06 purchase ??

I'll assume me...
I had someone ( I think on the forum) bought one of the sets of brushes from the last order. After I sent them he removed one of his and he said although the sizes were the same the angle that they brush carrier presents the brush to the commutator was different, so in order to use them he was going to have to grind a new angle.

I offered money back etc and I never heard any more. They may have been the set that I saw on ebay recently for sale.

Brushes are definitely different, as John said. I have a set of 106 brushes sat on my shelf which are on their way to John Kay from Tim Strutt.

Good luck with the 106, Rob. There used to be one on the airfield here, which belonged to the customs people, but I haven't seen it about for a few weeks now. W reg with rear offside bumper trim missing, if you see it on ebay. Never been above 20mph :-)
