Charging appears on gauge and it wont run

If you get the message on the small Curtis gauge "CHARGING" but the mains isnt in and the door is shut (Not on early cars) then you probably have a problem with the small blue reed switch tucked up above the back corner of the fuel flap. If this is fitted to your car , you will have a small blue magnet fixed to the back edge of the fuel flap.
I have now seen two cars where the Reed switch has failed. I nopw keep some stock of the switch. Replacement requires removal of the rear bumper cover, and splicing in the new switch. I can also supply suitable heat shring tube to enable this to be done.
TAkes about 40 minutes to do.
