My home has 18 Sanyo 210 watt panels, an 8 kW Studor inverter charger,
48 VOLT 800 AMPH Rolls 5000 battery bank, an outback 80 amp solar charge control and a management system which allows me to use economy 7 to top up the battery bank in the winter when I don't get enough sunshine to do the job so at worst I pay a bit for economy seven or nothing at all in the summertime on many days I have an excess which I use to top up the berlingo now all I got to do is work out how to put up some pictures for you to see how the hell do I do that?
My off grid home installation
Hi chris i use about 160 amps to 280 amps per day the system is off grid 60 % of the time but i keep an eye on the batteries and set the timer to top up on E7 if they get down so at worst i pay a little for E7 or nothing but from end of march to sept i am of grid. My hot water is 40 vac tubes, a solar cylinder, and controller i have to blank some of the tubes in mid summer or it gets too hot.
