Don't know if anyone else here is into air sports but if you are you may be interested in this. Looks a bit lame compared to petrol versions but it's something I've been thinking about for a while and now someone's working on it.

Electric flight
I want one
They are great, have always fancied something like that but as I'm not great with heights its not an ideal sport for me but that looks much more gentle and once I get use to height I'm fine with it, its just taking off and zooming to 50 foot that scares the willies out of me.
Battery powered looks far mellower
Thanks for the share

I'm not too great with heights either but it's just like driving with another dimension added, you sort of forget that you're in the air. You can go as high, low or fast as you like or are comfortable with.
I seem to remember that you're into skiing so you could combine the two and do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuetDfQ-1nY
A few weeks training would be enough to start you on your way to true freedom.

I totally love air sports but the only ones I do at the moment are gliding and paragliding. Hoping to do some paramotoring this year and aiming to make a living out of flying in a few years whether it's instructing or aerial photography. Target date is 14/02/2011
