There is a damaged Ion on ebay for 4.8K which is rear wheel drive. Not sure if there is room on the moggy for the drive train. Might have to raise the boot floor. Would have the advantage of rapid charging.

Re: LEAF CHARGER PROJECT
Schooler Although I will probably not void the Leaf warranty please tell all about how to 3 phase charge the Leaf. I assume you attach the mains in Place of the regenerative motor? Chargemaster fitted a 30 Amp single phase charger last week and I noticed the 3phase fuses are 100 Amp so I could fit a...

Re: Morris Minor Conversion
Rich I drive a forklift powered seicento and I would say it is underpowered and motor overheats using lithium batteries. It can do 60 mph if there is a bit of downhill to get going but as soon as a bit of uphill you are down to 40. I do tow a little. On a conversion the choice is more between clutch...

Re: Do Berlingos require an MOT?
Hi Grumpy-B I think my Berlingo is not an LCV. The V5 looks exactly the same as my Seicento although I only have the page 2 of course. I am not sure if it says LCV or does it just populate the carrying capacity line with a weight figure? The LCV is usually on the soon to be abolished tax disc but is...

Re: Do Berlingos require an MOT?
RORY, NO M O T required on electric commercial vehicles, the previous owners of you vehicle may have got the M O T just to show say a new purchaser that the vehicle is sound from the all the things on the M O T, I have had my (shiny) red van M O Td three times but haven't bothered fo the past two y...

Do Berlingos require an MOT?
I had the belief that commercial electric vehicles do not require an MOT. Having now purchased a Berlingo I find it has had an MOT history. Is this because there are folding rear seats fitted? It does not state the no. of seats on the V5. There are no windows at the back which used to be important w...

Berlingo cells
Are there any cells available these days? I am hoping to rescue a van with a bad cell.

Re: Lifepo4 cells . Initial charge or not?
Mike I am not sure I can do the subject justice in a post. Might be better to watch the video. To sumarise the plates and electrolyte are stable and non reactive. Only when charged do the Lithium molecules move into the plates and become highly reactive. A protective layer forms which protects the p...

Lithium Battery Life
There are some interesting lectures on lithium batteries on Youtube. I watched one on methods of testing that do not require full lifetime cycle testing. Why do Li-ion Batteries die ? and how to improve the situation? by professor Jeff Dahn. One small part of the lecture showed the shortening effect...

Re: Lifepo4 cells . Initial charge or not?
Just watched the recent Jack Rickard Youtube seminar on Lithium batteries. Well tried to watch as it turned out to be an insomnia cure. Anyway I caught a remark that the initial charge should be very slow I think he said several days?
