Hi
I have just received a quote from France for a set os batteries in cases for 3000 Euros of 2600 Euros without cases and fuses. From Mr Outman of SAS.
Taken from a 16,000 km breaker. To be honest it seems expensive given the high maintenance nature of the cells.

Re: Q Electric Milk Float - Any Information Please!
Is the engage being used as a stand alone device or is it connected to a curtis motor controller. How is the vehicle performing when the engage is suggesting you are low of power. Is every cell performing as it should? Access the battery terminals, jack the vehicle drive axle up, run the vehicle an...

Re: Q Electric Milk Float - Any Information Please!
I visited Paul yesterday and mercifully found the batteries to be in good condition. There are two Zivan chargers recently fitted. The main issue is the OEM display which is a Curtis enGage IV this went from full to 1 bar in 8 miles the batteries dropped only a volt. There seems to be a password to ...

Berlingo range issues
I am tying to resurrect a van which has been unused for several years. The guage charges up to 100% but I only get good speed to 90% then completely dead at 75%. Is this likely to improve by repeated use or do I need to work on the cells?
Re: newby
How original do you want it to be? The biggest advance has been in battery technology. Lead-acid although cheap works out very dear because it lasts such a short time. A lithium battery would be 1/3 the weight and 1/2 the volume roughly speaking. Because they can give more power for longer it may al...

You say you have a man who can repair our controllers, we USED to have our own guru who knew everything about our beloved steeds MR EVAN TUER but he dissapered off the face of the earth and no one knows where, he used to repair our controllers at reasonable cost. So what do you estimate would be th...

[quote="littlejobselectrical"]I love this van and would invest in one as it would fit my application perfectly being a electrical engineer. Unfortunately the Battery lease (goverment stealth tax). Kills it £75 per month plus the cost of the finance would make it twice as expensive as a bra...

Chademo at last?
Just seen the EVTV video and it seems Chademo is almost here for the converter. This will make all the difference in my opinion. Unfortunately it will mean having high voltage batteries in order to get a fast rate of charge. The idea of being able to make long trips in your home converted vehicle is...

Re: Converting a vw t2 on a bugdet
To answer your question, yes you can use more volts on a 48v milk float motor, I have done it. I second what Grumpy says AGM bateries are a waste of money. I have a car with them and it is useless. The sort of range and speed you desire is likely unachievable on a tight budget. You could easily spen...
