Re: HELP!! Advice on better/ modified batteries for my Leaf
Hi, I'm no expert, but my thinking is you would need to add the whole extra battery and connect it in parallel with the original battery to ensure the voltages are the same. Your problem is the 2012 battery is slightly different to the 2015 battery so not a good match, you will probably find the 201...

Outside evse required
Hi, Anyone know of any installers that could and would install an external evse before the olev deadline, location South Wales valleys. We've just been let down by an installer that's had all our details for 3 weeks, he promised the install would be OK, but then phoned Friday to say he can't fit us ...

Re: Lifepo4 charging
Hi Gareth, If it's similar to mine from China, it's got a title pcb with 6 connections, 2 for the shunt, 2 for the 12v relay supply, and 2 for the relay output. Send the relay output wires straight to a relay coil, set your parameters, then press set on the combo meter, this will send 12v to the rel...

Re: Lifepo4 charging
For ease of set up just use a plug in breadboard to test the set up and operation, I used one, and been using it since, no components have moved or come loose, I should really build a purpose built pcb but as its been working so well and reliably I've left it alone, I have cut all resistors short an...

Re: Lifepo4 charging
Hi Gareth, I use both the cell loggers and volt combo meters in my set up. I use the cell loggers to give me individual cell monitoring, this is the way I have my set up working. I have found that if driving a relay directly form the output port, sometimes this damages the small transistor inside th...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
Hi Greg, I was getting command 7 ok before I ran the test with my hobby charger to simulate a cell charge condition. After the test, and the master showing cell over voltage alarm condition at 3.68v I stopped the test. It was only. A test to try to learn the led condition and the bms, nothing out of...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
Hi Isaac, Ive trawled though the software and hardware threads fro a master reset switch, did find reference to a jumper reset, but doesnt seem to correspond to my version 2 master. Its probably something very quick and simple to solve, but as with all things if you arent sure on how it works makes ...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
Hi Isaac, Haven't got those tools, I'm a mechanical eng by trade, I do have good electric skills, but poor electronic skills, but it's something I've been wanting to learn for a few years now, ideally like to learn the arduino or duinomite type of code as its relatively cheap and fun. So, scoping is...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
Hi all, After my test with a battery on cell 1 and the bms set up for 1 cell, took voltage level to 3.68v, the max v alarm was set, I stopped the charge by switching off the power supply. I did send a reset all slave values to default command too. Now, I get alarm when the bms is powered up, bms ala...
